Mid-Summer Dance Party to benefit the Desert Aids Project
You don’t have to be John Travolta or Olivia Newton-John … just tap your “inner greaser” and get ready to have a great Saturday night because July 25 is going to be a new millennium sock hop those 1950s guys and gals could never dream of.
Besides DJs Femme A and Alex Harrington, go-go dancers, and complimentary cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, some of the Queen of the Desert folks have teamed up yet again to bring you a little extra entertainment throughout the evening. The reigning Queen, Jazmyn Simone-Echelon, will open the show, followed by Ethylina Canne – you’ll quickly be reminded why they were each voted Fan Favorite when they show you how the ‘50s COULD have been -- and joined by choreographer and producer Steven Michael and a back-up dancer or two.
Don’t miss the fun from 8 p.m. to midnight at the Palm Springs Pavilion at 401 S. Pavilion Way at Sunrise Park, next to the city pool. This is a fully air-conditioned auditorium with plenty of free parking.
Returning again as co-chairs are Kenny Jervis, Michael Crisp, and Kerry Hendrix, who will be glad to sell you tickets – and so would all members of the Host Committee: JP Allen, Chad Ballard, Ethylina Canne, Shann Carr, Levvy Carriker, Ryan Cummings, John Moore, Fernando Noriega, Paul Parkinson, Juli Ragsdale, Jazmyn Simone, Amanda Smith, Darrell Tucci, Robert Van Roo, Klint Watkins, and David White.
Or just visit www.desertaidsproject.thankyou4caring.org/danceparty and buy your general admission ticket for $40 or your VIP ticket for $75, which also provides access to the exclusive VIP Lounge. For more information, call JP Allen at (760) 992-0440.
