Brenton Wood’s Love Jam is hosted by Candyman, who was featured backing Tone L?c before earning his own solo stint that produced the chart-topping single “Knockin’ Boots.” A popular repeat artist to the Spotlight Showroom, Brenton Wood had two huge singles in the 1960s, “Gimme a Little Sign" and the infectious "Oogun Boogum,” both of which are still popular today. Peaches and Herb, dubbed the “Sweethearts of Soul,” enjoyed a string of successful albums producing such hits as “We’re In This Thing Together,” “Let’s Fall In Love,” “Shake Your Groove Thing” and the number-one smash “Reunited.” Atlantic Starr scored several hits on both the R&B and pop charts, including “Secret Lovers,” “Always” and “My First Love.” The group GQ, which stands for “good quality,” recorded their biggest hit in 1979 with “Disco Nights (Rock-Freak),” which reached the number 1 spot on the R&B charts as well as the top-20 on the Billboard Hot 100. Rose Royce, the nine-member funk group, has one of the biggest dance songs ever with “Car Wash.” They followed up the number 1 hit single with several more hits including “I Wanna Get Next To You,” “Wishing On A Star” and “Love Don’t Live Here Anymore.” Zapp released gold-selling albums such as Zapp, Zapp II, Zapp III and New Zapp IV U and had top ten R&B hit singles, such as "Be Alright," "Dance Floor," "I Can Make You Dance," "Heartbreaker" and "It Doesn't Really Matter."
